The Halloween Leftovers | Los Restos de Halloween

Hello, artists!
Most of the time, we have leftover elements from other cards we've previously made. Today, I want to talk to you specifically about those leftovers: yesterday, I posted a Halloween card, and with the leftovers, I made this one. In this post, I'll show you how to create this card, which is quite simple to make.

La mayoría de las veces nos sobran elementos de otras tarjetas que hemos creado anteriormente. Hoy quiero hablarles precisamente de esas sobras: ayer publiqué una tarjeta de Halloween, y con lo que me sobró hice esta otra. En esta publicación les cuento cómo crear esta tarjeta, que es bastante sencilla de hacer.

For the previous Halloween card, I used the Fall Sampler Dies set, designed by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders and Ranger Ink. I had some leftover spooky faces that I used to create the eyes, nose, and mouth of the Jack O'Lantern. So, I decided to make holes in a piece of black cardstock and color the background with grey and black tones to simulate caves. Then, I added touches of color to those holes with Distress Oxide inks, which work well on dark and colored cardstock because they’re pigment-based. Afterward, I colored the leftover Halloween faces with Distress Ink and glued them into each hole with liquid adhesive. This way, the Jack O'Lantern faces appear to peek through the holes I created earlier.

Para la tarjeta anterior de Halloween, utilicé el set de troqueles Fall Sampler Dies, diseñado por Simon Hurley para Spellbinders y Ranger Ink. Me sobraron algunas caras terroríficas que usé para crear los ojos, nariz y boca de Jack O'Lantern. Por eso, decidí hacer agujeros en una cartulina negra y colorear el fondo con tonos grises y negros para simular unas cuevas. Luego añadí toques de color en esos agujeros con tintas Distress Oxide, que, al ser de pigmento, funcionan bien sobre cartulinas oscuras y de colores. Después, coloreé esas caras de Halloween sobrantes con tintas Distress Ink y las pegué en cada agujero usando pegamento líquido. De esta manera, estas caras de Jack O'Lantern parecen asomarse a través de los agujeros que creé previamente.

For the sentiment, I used the coordinating Fall Sampler Stamp Set and embossed the text with white embossing powder.

Para la frase, utilicé el set de sellos coordinado Fall Sampler Stamp Set y embosé el texto con polvos de embossing blancos.

To finish this card, I splattered white and black ink over the surface and added dimension to the eyes, nose, and mouth of the spooky faces using dimensional adhesive.

Para finalizar esta tarjeta, salpiqué tinta blanca y negra sobre la superficie y añadí relieve a los ojos, nariz y boca de las caras escalofriantes usando pegamento dimensional.

As you can see, this card is quite easy to make and can serve as an example for future cards using leftovers. So, if you have extra images or die cuts after finishing a card, try making another one with those leftovers and give them a new life!
